Yay Berlin, boo WiFi

Berlin is an absolutely lovely city. Tons to do, and currywurst is fantastic. I saw the the Brandenburg gate today, as well as Hitler's bunker, the Jewish memorial, and Checkpoint Charlie. After those, I went to the other side of the river and toured the New Synagogue which was interesting, as well as just walked around.

Unfortunately WiFi here is terrible so I might have to make a Berlin pictures post at the end of Berlin or find good WiFi hidden in the city. Also, Starbucks and McDonald's don't do free WiFi here. Makes me really appreciate unlocked WiFi.

Mt. Zeus

I went to bed effectively as soon as I got back last night and had  to leave early  sorry for  the late post. I know how much you all look forward to these. What's the tallest peak in the Cyclades? Mt. Zeus. Who decided it would be a great idea to climb up in the sweltering heat? Me... Yeah not my brightest moment. There are a few paths up. I chose the 6 km round trip one. It goes past the cave called Zeus Cave. Why so much Zeus on this mountain? Well it is where Zeus was born and raised of course. Anyways, it started so easy. There was a paved path and everything. Then very quickly it went away. I told myself I'd go see the cave and that was it. Getting there was hard on its own. As I mentioned there is no path. You're just climbing over rocks, some stable, some loose. And the only thing to balance yourself with is more rocks or incredibly spikey bushes of sorts. Very roundly shaped though. Kinda cool. Copenhagen day 3

My last day in Copenhagen was just an enjoyable as the others. I have no idea where I was in the morning, but there was a copy of Michelangelo's David and big fancy boats. There was also a fabulous dome that wasn't open for some reason so I didn't get to explore that. I continued about my day by going and visiting the  Thorvaldsens Museum. Dude was damn good at sculpting. After that I went and just chilled along a canal and read Catch-22 some more. A wonderful end to a wonderful city. Tomorrow I am off to Berlin.  Look familiar?  How about now? The Jesus and apostles  are both in the museum and this church.

Auschwitz

I almost didn't make it. I slept 30 mins too late and almost missed my train. The train got delayed by 30 mins just sitting between stations at one point which would have gotten me to the station after my tour started, but the driver decided to make it feel like the train was going to fly off the tracks and we made it to Osweicim just 5 minutes late. The I had to walk to the museum from the station and made it to the museum just 6 minutes before my tour started. And then I went to check in and I had to go put my bag in storage. I didn't have any money but they took it anyway and said I could pay them at the end. I ultimately joined my group two minutes before we started. The museum was tough. That stuff is never easy to see. Actually being there is a feeling like no other. I never realized just how big the camps were. Birkenau is 40 square km, or about 15.44 square miles. My tour guide was wonderful. She has worked as a guide for 15 years and was incredibly knowledge. I wish
